Pakistan Hockey Federation keen to resume hockey ties with India

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is engaged in talks with their Indian hockey counterparts in a bid to conduct a bilateral series at the earliest.

According to PHF sources, it is more than keen to resume bilateral hockey ties with India with an aim at improving the financial health of Pakistan hockey as well as revive interest in the sport in the country.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation is of the opinion that a bilateral series with India can go a long way in lifting the sport’s sagging image in the country.

The federation has been finding it exceedingly difficult to secure sponsorship and pull in crowds to Stadiums to watch the national team in action.

It may be noted that the two parallel national Olympic bodies in the country are casting a shadow over Pakistan’s participation in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games slated to be held this year.
