Food Corporation of India (FCI) is the latest entity to be part of Hockey India’s (HI) fold – it became its associate member. With the inclusion of FCI, Hockey India now has 19 associate members. The hockey body also has 27 affiliated and two state Olympic association members.
The move will pave the way for FCI Sports Promotion Board to participate in the National Championships.
It may be mentioned here that FCI Sports Promotion Board has the likes of talented youngsters like Surender Kumar and Keshav Dutt in their ranks. Keshav Dutt was part of the Jaypee Punjab Warriors in the inaugural Hero Hockey India League last year, while Surender Kumar is featuring for Delhi Waveriders in the 2014 edition.
