Junior Men’s National: Services win big against Bihar


Services Sports Control Board launched their campaign in the 4th Hockey India national junior men’s ‘B’ division championship on a belligerent note, clubbing Hockey Bihar 10-2 in a Pool B tie in Chennai.

SSCB were given an early lead by Kunjappa, who added another to his tally a little later as they led Vidarbha 3-0 at half-time. SSCB were rampaging in the second stanza pumping home as many as seven goals with Kunjappa completing a fine hat-trick. Naveen Minz, Navpreet Singh, Bishram Dodray, Naveen Minz, John Barla, Ramandeep and Mangra Bhengra scored once for the winners. Prem Ranjan Ekka and Subash Sanga scored two solace goals for Bihar in the second half.

In another match in the same pool Bengal Hockey Association pipped Vidarbha Hockey Association 4-2. In Pool A Hockey Gangpur Odisha clubbed Puducherry 14-1.
