Hockey India appoints Harendra Singh as coach of junior men's team


Hockey India has appointed Harendra Singh as the coach of the junior men’s hockey team. The move will allow Harendra, who has coached the national team in various capacities, to focus on grooming the junior men’s squad for the 2016 Junior Men’s World Cup 2016 to be held in India.

He will join the training camp of the junior men’s hockey team on April 25.


Hockey India Secretary General Dr. Narinder Batra, said the appointment of Harendra Singh is in line with its efforts to prepare the junior hockey men’s team for the 2016 World Cup to be hosted in India. He added that Harendra’s experience as a coach and player will lend huge value to the camp, which is scheduled to start at the end of this month.
