4th Sub-Junior Men’s Nationals: Delhi maintain clean slate

Delhi edged Himachal Pradesh by the odd goal in three to rack up their consecutive win in a Pool B tie in the 4th National Sub-Junior Men’s ‘B’ Division Hockey Championship being played at Vadodara, Gujarat.
The Delhi outfit called the shots from the starting hooter and struck in the 14th minute through Nitin Ram as his side led by a solitary goal at half-time. Mohit Anand doubled the lead early in the second half before Himachal Pradesh hit back through Prakash Chand three minutes later.
Himachal Pradesh had more than twenty-five minutes to make a match of it, but Delhi weathered all their raids to pull off a 2-1 win. With three wins, Delhi are virtually assured of a semifinal berth.
In another match Bihar sneaked past Assam 4-3 in Pool A, while Bengal scraped past Uttarakhand 2-1 in Pool C. Gujarat got the better of Mumbai 2-1 in Pool D.
