Hockey Gangpur-Odisha clinch national sub-junior men's 'B' division title

Hockey Gangpur-Odisha humbled Delhi 5-2 to win the 4th National Sub-Junior Men’s ‘B’ Division Hockey Championship at Vadodara, Gujarat.

Sanjay Xalxo gave Odisha the lead in the first half and the scoreline remained that way before Pratap Lakra doubled the lead early in the second half.

Delhi reduced the deficit through Mohit Anand, but almost immediately Sanjay Xalxo got his second goal of the day as the Odisha outfit surged ahead. Anand Ekka made it 4-1 before Mohit Anand again hit back for Delhi. Biraj Topno put the game beyond Delhi with the fifth goal in the 66th minute.

Earlier, SAI had trounced Gujarat 11-2 to take the third spot. In the semifinals, Odisha edged SAI 1-0 while Delhi hammered Gujarat 8-0.
