Indian hockey team begins Commonwealth Games preparatory camp


The Indian senior men’s hockey team kickstarted their 2014 Commonwealth Games preparations in New Delhi from Wednesday. The 33 probables incude the two injured forwards – Ramandeep Singh and Nikkin Thimmaiah – who have recovered from their respective injuries sustained on the eve of the 2014 World Cup.

The  probables will be put through their paces under the watchful eyes of head coach Terry Walsh, High Performance Director Roelant Oltmans besides other support staff.
The camp will be held for a duration of seventeen days and the team will depart for Glasgow on July 12.

Probables: Goalkeepers: P R Sreejesh, Harjot Singh, Sushant Tirkey; Defenders: Gurbaj Singh,  Birendra Lakra, Rupinder Pal Singh, V R Raghunath, Gurmail Singh, Gurjinder Singh, Vikram Kanth, Gurinder Singh, Manpreet Singh,  Diwakar Ram, Kothajit Singh; Midfielders: Dharamvir Singh, Sardar Singh, S K Uthappa, Jasjit Singh, Danish Mujtaba, Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, Satbir Singh, Devinder Sunil Walmiki, Vikas Pillay; Forwards: S V Sunil, Ramandeep Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Nikkin Thimmaiah, Lalit Upadhyay, Yuvraj Walmiki, Talwinder Singh, Affan Yousuf, Nithin Thimmaiah.
